Taking a girls trip to Nashville? My sister and I vacationed in the City of Country Music for the weekend; we tried as many must do and must try places we could fit in one weekend during our visit to Nash. I hope, after reading about our girls trip, you’ll find inspiration to plan your own.

Whether it’s a girls trip, birthday party, or bachelorette bash, these recommendations are sure to be a hit during your stay in Nashville.

WHERE TO STAY

During our visit to Nashville, we prioritized where we looked to book our stay by how close it was to downtown Nashville. We knew we wanted to be as close to the hustle and bustle as possible, without spending a fortune. We ended up booking a hotel within walking distance to Broadway Street. Not only was it close to the nightlife, it felt very upscale for the cost; we were able to feel bougie, while on a budget. We booked a room at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel.

If you’re up for traveling a little further to and fro Broadway in Downtown Nashville, there are some adorable Airbnb’s worth looking into. (These are Airbnb’s I have not stayed, personally, but have added to my list of musts on my next trip to Nashville!)
This Airbnb is Dolly Parton themed, need I say more?! I feel like this list could just end here, as it’s hard to top this one. It can sleep up to 12 people and is 3 miles from The Roman, Nissan Stadium, Bridgestone Arena, and some of the famous honky to keep bars on Broadway.
If The Queen of country music isn’t for you— this luxury themed home is full of glamour and fun…and a ROOFTOP DECK. I mean, hello!
The Wade House is a MUST if walking to the downtown scene isn’t on the top priority list. This adorable home is located in the 12 South district. It can sleep up to 10 guests and, like the luxury themed home, it also has a rooftop deck. While only mere minutes away from downtown Nashville, it is also conveniently located at one of the most recommended places for shopping while in town!

WHERE TO GO

Prior to our trip to Nashville, I stalked Pinterest like a madwoman. I mean…It’s not every day that two girl gets to up and leave the state, without their husbands and children in tow. So, I knew we had to make our mini vacay worth while. I wanted to cram, without overloading, as much stuff into our trip as possible.
There were many places we thoroughly enjoyed and some, highly recommended places, we wish we would have skipped!
I thought it might be beneficial to share both.

MUST EAT PLACES

Bar Taco was recommended in multiple blog posts I read about visiting Nashville. It is located in the 12 South District, making it the perfect shopping lunch break. You can recoup and regroup while sipping on their delicious spicy margs! If you go there, I promise you’ll be dreaming of their corn-off-the-cob for months afterwards. It is a must order. Trust me. I also tried their shrimp, duck, beef, and chicken tacos. So good.

Bar Taco

Five Daughter’s Bakery is worth any detour, any line, any price. When I tell you I crave them, I am telling you I would drive across country to order more of their cronuts. They. Are. Heavenly. We went to their 12 South District and there was no wait time. We were, however, overwhelmed by their choices. We each ordered two different ones so we could share the variety. But, once you taste them…you will wish you had ordered more and, that you didn’t have to share. There is a reason they have so many locations in such close proximity: demand. I heard that it is known to be packed with people and a rather lengthy wait. And, I’m telling you…WORTH IT.

Other honorable mentions include: Frothy Monkey— coffee shop in 12 South. I did not care for their coffee, at all. But they had the best cheesecake I have ever had. Critters Bar had the best tacos, ever. I ate them every night we were in Nashville. (More on Critters later.)

SHOPPING

If you are looking to spend your time shopping, there are plenty of places located in or near Nashville. Personally, I thought a lot of places were overpriced and overhyped. And, there were a few we went in solely to have the privilege of saying we had. However, some places we really enjoyed.
12 South was really neat. It’s where we shopped and where we stopped at Five Daughter’s Bakery for the cronuts, Bar Taco for tacos and margs, and had the cheesecake from The Frothy Monkey. Some of the stores we shopped around in were:

  • Draper James (Reese Witherspoon’s store)
  • Madewell (best jeans, everrrr)
  • Stoney Clover (so pricey, but cute photo ops!)
  • UAL (United Apparel Liquidators)
  • White’s Mercantile (the cutest modern general store)

The Factory at Franklin was also a favorite place for us during our shopping days. It was a little drive over to Franklin, but site seeing the big houses made it seem worth it. I read during my Nashville researching, that Franklin is home to a lot of country music stars and that, often times, you have high chances of running into one while visiting Franklin. So, of course we had to tempt fate. But, as our luck typically goes, we did not run into any of our country music heroes while shopping. I did, however, score some thrifted wranglers, a Vols hat, and a few tees within the shops at The Factory. I also tried a drink from Urban Sips located inside the old, converted building.

Overall, we had the best time, in the best place.
